7:00 a/pm - TRANSIT AUTHORITY PROGRAM
This third program features the role of the Fairmont Marion County Transit Authority serving the citizens of Marion County. Today, the Grey Lines is presented. This daily bus lines runs from Fairmont to Morgantown and Pittsburgh. David Bruffy, General Manager, Grey Lines and President of the West Virginia Transportation Association, will share many thoughts about this. He will then join George Levitsky, General Manager, Fairmont-Marion County Transit Authority, as they discuss West Virginia Public Transportation at the BC Bank. We’ll also talk to David Stump, the bus driver from Reedsville.

7:35 a/pm - DEDICATION & OPEN HOUSE OF YOUTH ACADEMY
This youth academy concentrates on drug and substance abuse. Interviews are with Matt Kittle, principal; Dr. David Bonasso, founder and Board Member; Steve Fairley, Executive Director; Carly Chickerell, Pat Harah, and introductions of some of the staff. In addition the program is presented which includes comments by David Lester, Governor Joe Manchin, and Dr. Ron Pearse.

8:28 a/pm - MARION COUNTY PUBLIC LIBRARY
This first series of our Public Library features a tour of some of the Library facilities with Erika Reed, Library Director. She shares interesting and informative insights concerning the internet stations, audio and video sections, income tax assistance, the children’s room, and the all important Library access to the Marlo database system. Also discussed with pictures are the Fairview and Mannington Branch Library and the Bookmobile. Brief interviews are conducted with two users of the Library: Joshua McKinney on the internet and Barbara Guthrie on book reading.

8:52 a/pm- FAIRMONT CITY COUNCIL
Highlights include City Manager James Snider outlining the Water Crisis and the negotiations to the present time; comments by F. Paul Calamita, Chairman, and Attorney at Law with AquaLaw; appointments to several Boards and Commissions; and first and second readings on upcoming hearings.

1:05 a/pm - EDITH ROBERTS, WIDOW OF COLONEL GEORGE “SPANKY” ROBERTS, speaks at the Celebration of Ideas at Fairmont State on Sept. 8, 2008.
The history of Colonel “Spanky” Roberts as one of the original Flying Tuskegee Airmen will be presented. This program is also part of the Black History Month Celebration in Fairmont and Marion County

2:00 a/pm - RUN TO READ HALF MARATHON
The Run to Read Half Marathon at Prickett’s Fort to benefit the Literacy Volunteers of Marion County will be presented. On a damp and cold Saturday, our cameras follow the runners from the start to the finish, through the Meredith Tunnel, and along the trail. We’ll talk with runners from all over America and West Virginia.

3:00 a/pm - MARION COUNTY COMMISSION
The first session of the Marion County Commission following the November election is held.

3:30 a/pm - FAIRMONT CITY COUNCIL
The first session of the Fairmont City Council is presented since the November election. The Council will be seen electing a mayor and deputy mayor and presenting their choice of council person to fill the unexpired term of the First District. New Council Members are shown being sworn in to office.

5:26 a/pm - CANDIDATES SWEARING IN
Most of the Marion County Candidates elected to public office were sworn in on Wed., Dec. 17th at the Court House. Even though some swearing ins were ceremonial, this well attended event featured comments by newly elected Supreme Court Justice Menis Ketchum and Secretary of State Natalie Tennant. John Perdue speaks briefly. My mistake in filming failed to capture the swearing in of Delegate Longstreth and Caputo.

West Virginia University students produce this 15 minute professional news program that is shown Sundays on WWVU-TV and then daily on channel 19. Through the efforts of Gina Dahlia, this production is brought to channel 19



Three ways to support us


> First, most any of our shows can be purchased for $20.00.  This will assist us in the purchase of equipment, advertisement, production and travel.  Certain copyright laws may prevent us from offering all programs for sales.
 
> Second, we are offering an underwriting of any monthly program we do for a modest fee of $200 a month. Each program is shown twice a day which the underwriter can be mentioned twice in each show. Thus, the individual, company, or business will receive at least 120 mentions a month, which averages out to 60¢ per spot.
 
> Third, I will transpose your video tapes (VHS, S-VHS, Hi-8 or 8mm) onto DVD or CD for $25.00. This will include an hours of production, labeling, and a case. Beyond that, the cost is $20.00 an hour.

I am thankful for the help at Time Warner from Marshall Tenney. He puts all programs on the hard drive and adjusts the timing of the program for over the air viewing. He also programs channel 18. He is always trying to make certain all is running smoothly.
