7:29 a/pm - FSHS LACROSSE CHAMPIONSHIP
On May 16, 2009 the Fairmont Senior High Girls defeated Morgantown High School for their second straight state Lacrosse championship. The contest is shown almost in its entirety with introduction of players, singing of the National Anthem, and presentation of trophy at the conclusion of the game.

Beautiful backlay of music compliments the faith in action video without words.

11:07 a/pm - LETTERMAN’S ATHLETIC BANQUET
Highlights of the evening include before the Banquet interviews with Duane Cochran, Fairmont Times-West Virginian reporter, Women Basketball Coach, Steve McDonald, Athletic Director “Rusty” Elliott, academic and community athletes Jamal Womble, Gerod Green, and Kristy Rausch. Green and Rausch interviews done on the track and softball field. Because of the wonderful help from Adam Zundell, director of athletic media relations and marketing, we were able to post pictures from the banquet and include the following talks: Coach Bob Huggins, Buck Thompson, Jack Reagan, Rausch and Womble. Closing comments were given by Rusty Elliott and Charles Reese

1:00 a/pm - R-W, W-I ALUMNI GAME
This short 3 minute highlight prepares the viewers for more to come in the following month of an alumni game for a great cause, uniting many former or present Marion Countians in a traditional game that was as strong as the Fairmont West-East rivalry. This game will be broadcast on both TV19 and 18.

John Michael Cummings discuses his new book, “The Night I Freed John Brown” An excellent speaker, his novel shares much about his home and family life in and around Harper’s Ferry and the life and sacrifices made in order to write this novel.

4:00 a/pm - CROP WALK
The annual CROP Walk to benefit world and local hunger projects was held the first Sunday in May, starting at East West Stadium. Sponsored by the Greater Fairmont Council of Churches, it provides both a healthy and monetary approach to assist those who have little health or food or are in need of one or both.
4:22 a/pm - DISABILITY ACTION CENTER DEDICATION
Held April 30, 2009, the dedication of the old Fairmont Bowling Center and formerly Webster’s College has been made over as a result of a free gift from brothers George and Herman Haupstein. The dedication service is shown in its entirely with participation from recipients of service, politicians, and board members.

5:08 a/pm - SPECIAL OLYMPICS
Special Olympics of Marion County was taped at North Marion High School. It featured interviews with April Kaull and Coach Mike Lopez of Fairmont State Football Team, students from West Fairmont and North Marion as well as John Petrucci. The opening ceremony is covered and portions of a few of the games.

Training to Interview People for TV, Oral History, and other settings. Miles Chapel Church, 501 Monroe St., Fairmont. At intersection of Monroe and High Street, past the former Dunbar School. This will be the first step to train people to do Public Access Television and to assist in working on a documentary on African-American History in Fairmont by collecting oral histories.
FIRST OF FOUR WORKSHOPS. $20 each or $70 for all four. Central United Methodist Church, 301 Fairmont WV, Fairmont 26554

Saturday, July 11, 2009 from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm
Training for PEG ACCESS Television. First session in training will be to create the idea, write the story, plan the interviews, develop the scenes, and plan the outcome. This involve planning the work and then working the plan. Cost will be $20.00. DD Meighen will lead the workshop. And will share the creation of such documentaries he has produced on Mission WV, Fairmont State’s 1967 Championship Football Team, Hunger in Marion County, and others. The cost is $20. If you plan to attend all four sessions, the cost will be $70.

Friday, August 14, 2009 from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm
This workshop will feature shooting video and utilizing techniques as staging, lighting, and positing. It will basically involve a one camera shoot but some thought will be given to using two cameras. The use of tripods will be discussed. Some hands on experience will be included. The goal is to prepare for local non-profits, community agencies, schools and Fairmont State to develop programs that can be aired on channel 19. The cost is $20.00

Saturday, September 26, 2009 from 9:00am - 1:00 pm
This workshop will allow persons to bring a five minute video of what they have written and created from the first and/or second workshop. We will discuss each briefly and developing a network of persons interested in taping. We will then begin the consideration of editing.

Saturday, October 10, 2001 from 9:00am - 2:00 pm
Editing and Uploading. Different editing programs will be discussed and some will be shown. A discussion will the occur on uploading the finished product to DVD, the web, etc. Persons with experience will show others these techniques and methods. All programs will be held at Central United Methodist Church, 301 Fairmont Wave., Fairmont, WV 26554


Three ways to support us and a couple of notes


> First, most any of our shows can be purchased for $20.00.  This will assist us in the purchase of equipment, advertisement, production and travel.  Certain copyright laws may prevent us from offering all programs for sales.
 
> Second, we are offering an underwriting of any monthly program we do for a modest fee of $200 a month. Each program is shown twice a day which the underwriter can be mentioned twice in each show. Thus, the individual, company, or business will receive at least 120 mentions a month, which averages out to 60¢ per spot.
 
> Third, I will transpose your video tapes (VHS, S-VHS, Hi-8 or 8mm) onto DVD or CD for $25.00. This will include an hours of production, labeling, and a case. Beyond that, the cost is $20.00 an hour.

I am thankful for the help at Time Warner from Marshall Tenney. He puts all programs on the hard drive and adjusts the timing of the program for over the air viewing. He also programs channel 18. He is always trying to make certain all is running smoothly.
